Solution Seminars

Vibration Institute Meetings
To meet a need in industry for individuals within a local area to meet and exchange ideas about their vibration problems, local chapters of the Vibration Institute were established in 1979. The first three chapters were organized in New Orleans, Chicago, and Houston. Today there are 34 chapters, with more coming on board regularly.

Each chapter has its own meeting schedule, some meet monthly, some quarterly, and some bimonthly. Typical meetings feature guest speakers and social activities. Training conferences are often presented. Certification examinations are given by various chapters throughout the year.

Equipment Reliability Institute
ERI is a specialized engineering school that focuses on solving hardware reliability and durability problems. ERI offers engineering specialties at client facilities, at major cities and via distance learning. ERI specialists consult on specific problems. - Wayne Tustin, Founder

Training is intended to provide individuals with knowledge, skills and attitude needed to perform (or more effectively perform) a specific job. Not education that's intended to make people well-rounded.

Formal training is needed when one or more people in an organization needs new skills or knowledge and no colleague has the time or the skills to teach him.

Hands-On Modal Testing & Analysis Course
Featuring Data Physics SignalCalc Dynamic Signal Analyzers

The Hands-on Modal Testing & Analysis Course is presented by Navcon Engineering at their Fullerton , CA facility three times per year (Fall, Spring & Summer) and is intended for engineers and technicians responsible for modal test data acquisition, data reduction & analysis. The class is truly hands-on with more then 50% of the time being spent in the laboratory. Students will conduct both, impact & shaker modal tests, time & frequency domain operational deflection shape tests, and will complete a variety of digital signal processing and measurement laboratories.

The Hands-on Modal Testing & Analysis Course is a technology driven seminar. Lectures focus on the theoretical background with emphasis on the practical application. It is not the intention of the seminar to train students on any specific hardware or software application. However, Data Physics analyzers are used exclusively during the laboratories. Students will get more than 16 hours of hands-on experience with SignalCalc Dynamic Signal Analyzers. Upon completing the training, students will have a working knowledge of the analyzers (hardware, user interface and setup) and will have used them to make various measurements including: auto & cross power spectra, linear spectra, impact & shaker frequency response, coherence and time captures.

The course features Data Physics SignalCalc Dynamic Signal Analyzersand Vibrant Technology’s ME’Scope modal software. Students use Ace (powered by Quattro) Analyzers during the digital signal processing and impact excitation labs. They also use Quattros while conducting an impact modal test on the infamous JimBeam test structure (see pics below). Students use Mobilyzer (powered by Abacus) Analyzers to conduct the multi-channel Porsche modal and operational deflection shape tests.
