SignalCalc Analysers Training
Data Physics offers multi-session, hands-on training for its highly acclaimed SignalCalc Dynamic Signal Analysers. This section explains the training curriculum and lists upcoming classes.
Dynamic Signal Analyser Training Objectives
Students will learn how to set up and use their Data Physics analyser effectively for noise and vibration measurements. Emphasis will be placed on :
- Understanding basic signal processing in order for the student to recognise measurement problems and interpret results
- Using shakers and impact hammers for Frequency Response Measurements.
The course is presented in two parts. Part I emphasises the standard features of all the analysers and comprises the first three days of the course week. Part II covers all the various add-on options available for the analysers and is covered the last two days of the week. Students may register for Part I, Part II, or both.

SignalStar Vibration Controller Training
Data Physics offers multi-session, hands-on training for its highly acclaimed SignalStar Vibration Controllers. This section explains the training curriculum and lists upcoming classes.
Vibration Test Systems Training Objectives
Students will learn how to effectively set up and use their Data Physics Controller for various types of testing requirements. Emphasis will be placed on :
- Understanding basic vibration control techniques for product testing and analysis that will allow operators to quickly diagnose and tune test parameters.
- The preparation and production of test documentation.
The course is presented in two parts, Part I and Part II. Part I covers vibration fundamentals that are required to effectively use the controller. Part II focuses on vibration control and the various test types used for product testing. Students may register for Parts I and II or Part II.
The course is recommended for both Operators and Test Engineers.

Instructors
Lectures are presented in a clear and concise manner by instructors who have many years experience in vibration control and signal analysis. Classes are kept small enough to foster communication between students and instructors. Class size is limited to 15 students and questions are always in order.
Hands-On Training and Demonstrations
The best way to learn about making measurements involves lots of hands-on time with a broad range of experiments. The labs in the analyser class use signal generators, shakers and hammer kits to offer a variety of measurement challenges. Each lab has 2-3 students per station, so that all students have the chance to actively participate in lab sessions.

Part I : Standard Analyser (3 days)
- Basic operation of SignalCalc Analysers and Mentor
- Introduction to digital signal processing
- Power Spectrum measurements
- Transfer Function and Coherence analysis Synchronous Signal Averaging (time and frequency)
- Auto and Cross-Correlation
- Histogram and PDF measurements
Part II : Analyser Applications (2 days)
- Throughput-to-Disk recording, analysis, playback
- Real-time octave and fractional octave analysis
- Shock Response Spectrum analysis
- RPM-Based Spectral measurements
- Order tracking for rotating machinery analysis
- Waterfall and Spectrogram analysis
- MIMO Frequency Response measurements
- Drop Test analysis
- Sine Data Reduction of shaker control tests
